Some things are worth taking the time to do.  My family enjoys microwave popcorn, but I like popcorn made the old fashioned way.  I know my way takes longer, but to me the taste makes it worth it.  it seems like no matter how quickly something is done people still complain that they don't have time to wait.

It is unfortunate that this mentality has become prominent in Christians.  People don't want to wait for the Lord to do something in their lives.  I have counseled people who have said that an absence of an immediate act on the part of God they took to mean that it was ok to go ahead and do things their way.

In the book of Ephesians it tells us that we are to be "Redeeming the time, because the days are evil."  The word Redeem means to purchase back something of value that was sold.  Have you given thought to the fact that when Jesus paid for your sins He purchased you unto Himself?  Since He purchased you and me that means He also owns our time.  To redeem time which belongs to the Lord it must be purchased back with something of value.  Give thought this week to the things which occupy your time and ask yourself if they are worth God's price.  While you are at it quite staring at the microwave and wishing it would cook your popcorn faster.

BRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!  It has been very cold lately.  I must be getting older, because the cold never used to bother me.  As I write this the LP heater in my office is blazing away and I am trying to figure out how to crawl inside the heater and still reach my keyboard.  I might have to call 911 before this is over.

We hear alot today about global warming, climate change, etc.  As men try to convince us that God's creation has a man-made limit.  They are wrong.  Along with those who fear destruction by asteroid, or epidemic, or nuclear war, or any other cataclysmic event those who say "we", as in humans, are destroying the planet are way off.  The truth of the matter is found in the Bible in Genesis 1-6.  God's creation was partially destroyed by the Great Flood in Genesis, but this was not done by man.  This was done by God, and it was done in God's timing.  This judgement was followed by God's promise that He would never again destroy creation until the time came to Finally pour out His judgement on men.

So here is the thing about global warming.  First, we are commanded in God's Word to be stewards of His creation.  This doesn't mean that we are to worship nature or even necessarily to "hug trees."  However, we also shouldn't be trying to see how bad we can make the air quality in our cities.  Stewardship means to take care of for use.  Second, There will come a time when God's judgement is poured out on men.  This will be far worse than any cataclysmic event predicted by hollywood, the Myans, or your weird neighbor that wears a tin foil hat.  The Book of Revelation contains the account of the wrath of God being poured out on those who have rejected His Son Jesus as their Saviour.  Third, the only way to avoid God's judgement is to receive Christ.

Friend, if you are not certain that you will spend eternity in Heaven won't you please read these verses:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God

Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Today will you make certain of your eternal life?  Don't worry about what man can do.  Make certain to avoid God's judgement today!!
